GHOSTS, GHOULS, GOBLINS TO HAUNT FALL HARVEST RUN
Runners, walkers urged to trick intruders by disquising themselves
Huntersville, Oct. 2 –The Fall Harvest Run 5K and 10K races at Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics have become an autumn tradition. This year, it looks like they’ll be a haunted tradition.
“Because this year’s event is Oct. 31, which of course is Halloween, we’ve been warned to be on the lookout for zombies, vampires, witches and other creatures trying to sneak in and haunt the races,” said HFFA Executive Director Molly Burroughs. “That’s why we’re urging participants – the real ones – to disguise themselves, so the intruders can’t tell the haunters from the haunted.”
In fact, HFFA will present awards to runners and walkers for the best costumes. Spectators are urged to don their best disguises, too.
“Speedy or spooky could make you a winner this year,” Burroughs adds.
The 5K, 10K and 1-mile fun run/walk all will begin and finish at HFFA, 11725 Verhoeff Drive, Huntersville.
